Resistance Bands
Resistance bands for training provide resistance that can be adjusted exercise by exercise without changing equipment. That makes a training band one of the most flexible pieces of equipment you can have at home. The resistance increases as the band is stretched, which means the muscles work harder the further you go in the movement. That demands control and stability in a way that differs from free weights.
JAAFIT PRO brings bands, bar and accessories together in one training band set that covers the whole body with adjustable resistance from 5 to 145 kg. It is the basis for JAAFIT's approach to home workout with bands.
Types of training bands
Not all bands work the same, and it is worth understanding the difference before you choose.
Training bands with handles are the type most often used for classic strength training at home. The handles provide a stable grip, and combined with a bar you can emulate movements like rows, presses and curls. JAAFIT PRO is built around that type.
Long training bands like PowerBands are loops without handles. They are used for assisted pull-ups, stretching and resistance exercises where the band is wrapped around the body or attached to an anchor point. They come in three strengths and can be combined with bars or used alone.
Short loops like Booty Bands typically sit around the thighs or ankles and isolate the hips and glutes. They are targeted and work well as a supplement to broader training.
Sets or single purchases
A training band set makes sense if you are starting from zero or want a complete solution where everything fits together from the start. JAAFIT PRO is built as that set, with eight bands in different strengths, bar, handles, ankle straps and door anchor.
If you already train and want to add resistance to specific exercises, single purchases of PowerBands or extra bands may be more relevant. If you want everything together at a lower price, there are ready bundles that combine sets and accessories in packages for different needs.
What you can train with bands
Training with bands is not limited to arm exercises with light resistance. Strength training with bands can cover the whole body, from leg presses and squats to rows, overhead press and core exercises. With sufficient resistance, bands can drive real muscle growth and progressive overload over time.
Muscle building does not depend on the type of equipment, but on mechanical loading and progression. If you understand the principles behind it, bands for home workout can deliver results similar to what a gym offers. We have written more about what actually drives muscle growth and about how to build muscle without a gym.
If you want to combine bands with other strength training equipment like pull-up bars or PowerPress, they function as added resistance in exercises that otherwise only use bodyweight.
Training stresses the body, and the body needs to recover. Especially with regular strength training using bands, recovery equipment like MassageRollers can make a difference for whether you keep the rhythm week after week.
